Some are better at containing theirs than others. For me, I keep my rebel heart hidden most of the time. But just when things are getting a little boring, I let it out to dance around...just enough to push boundaries...just enough to breathe and feel unabashedly me.
I like to keep the peace. I value others' opinions. I don’t need everyone to think like me. And I love my friends and family somethin’ fierce. I’d drop anything to help those I love. I want to leave anyone I come in contact with better than I found them.
I learned from a young age that I needed my creative moments. My moments, and my outlets to express myself.
My husband is a dentist, and for 10 years I worked in his office, which meant I wore boring scrubs every. single. day. And while they were comfortable, they were definitely not cute or flattering, and they didn’t make me feel confident. I hated wearing them outside of the office.
It got me thinking about how much what a person puts on each day does for them. A well-appointed outfit boosts confidence and personality and invites productivity and creativity. And from personal experience I know how breaking the expected dress code can improve how you are perceived by others. I mean, who really wants to look like everyone else?
So I’m on a mission to do just that: break the traditional concept of scrub-wearing. I’m designing scrubs with personality and flattering fits. I’m adding pattern and color and flair.
